At a glance
The children of Silvercross’s orphanage know her simply as Mother. She carries bread home, mends toys, and makes room for children to help.
Bram brings produce for her kitchen when he can. The orphanage is part of the village’s everyday life, where a meal or a little mending can matter a great deal.
